Serving Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, and Union counties, our team works every day to support workforce development, strengthen local industries, and create pathways to economic opportunity throughout region 26.
Local Workforce Program Support
Between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, CareerSource North Central Florida served 1,039 Employ Florida participants and provided Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services to 203 adults, dislocated workers, and youth.
The impact of these services can be seen in the outcomes:
- 50.9% of WIOA Adult participants obtained an industry-recognized credential.
- 75% of WIOA Dislocated Worker participants achieved an industry-recognized credential.
- 60% of WIOA Youth participants earned an industry-recognized credential.
- Individuals served through WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker programs saw an average annual wage increase of $25,974.
- 674 individuals served through the CareerSource Florida network are now off public assistance.
These outcomes reflect the value of investing in workforce training, career services, and employer partnerships that help residents gain in-demand skills and access meaningful employment opportunities.
Top 5 High-Demand Careers
The data also highlights the region’s growing demand for skilled professionals across a variety of industries. Among the top projected high-demand careers through 2032 are:
- Registered nurses
- General and operations managers
- Industrial truck and tractor operators
- Business operations specialists (all other)
- Managers (all other)
Other careers in the top 30 list included software developers, electricians, police and sheriff’s patrol officers, licensed practical nurses, and HVAC technicians.
