The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program is designed to strengthen and improve our nation’s public workforce system in order to help get Americans, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers and help employers hire and retain skilled workers. In order to participate in any of our training programs, you must first be eligible and enrolled in the WIOA program.

Employ Florida links all of Florida’s state and local workforce services and resources through the partnership of the Department of Commerce and CareerSource Florida, Inc. It is your one-stop shop for job listings, education and training opportunities, career-building assistance, and more.

  • Served on active duty for a period of more than 180 days (not including basic training and advanced individual training) and was discharged or released with a character of service other than dishonorable.
  • Was discharged or released from active duty because of a sole survivorship discharge.
  • Was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability OR served as a member of a reserve component under an order to active duty, served on active duty during a period of war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge is authorized, and was discharged or released from such duty with a character of service other than dishonorable.
  • A spouse of a veteran who died of a service‐connected disability.
  • A spouse of a member of the Armed Forces serving on active duty who, at the time of application for the priority, is listed in one or more of the following categories and has been so listed for a total of more than 90 days:
    • Missing in action
    • Captured in the line of duty by a hostile force
    • Forcibly detained or interned in the line of duty by a foreign government or power
  • A spouse of any veteran who has a total disability resulting from a service‐connected disability, as evaluated by the Department of Veterans Affairs OR a spouse of any veteran who died while a total, service-connected disability was in existence.
