CareerSource North Central Florida to Relocate Lake City and Old Town Career Centers

GAINESVILLE, FL – June 16, 2025 CareerSource North Central Florida (CSNCFL) will relocate its career centers in Lake City and Old Town following the expiration of both leases on July 1, 2025. The new office locations, one in Columbia County and one in Dixie County, will provide increased access, updated infrastructure, and improved operational efficiency.

After assuming responsibility for the Region 7 locations in 2024, CSNCFL evaluated each of their four site’s size, cost, and connectivity. The current spaces exceed staffing needs and, in Old Town’s case, have experienced persistent internet issues that affect service delivery. The decision to relocate follows discussions with county leaders and aligns with the board’s goal of maintaining a physical presence in all six counties it serves.

The Lake City center will move to a Columbia County government facility near the courthouse. The Old Town center will relocate to the Emergency Management Center in Cross City. Both locations offer better accessibility and reliable broadband, which is critical for virtual services, data entry, and communication systems. Finalized addresses will be announced upon lease execution.

The 16 staff members assigned to the two locations will transition to the new offices, and no service interruptions are expected during the move. CareerSource NCFL is also actively working with Union and Gilchrist counties to secure additional office space, expanding direct support across the full region.
