Gainesville, Florida — CareerSource North Central Florida is aware of the financial monitoring and audit materials recently issued by FloridaCommerce concerning the former CareerSource Florida Crown workforce region.
The reports reference financial activities and administrative matters associated with CareerSource Florida Crown during the period of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2024. During that time, CareerSource Florida Crown operated as a separate workforce development board responsible for its own governance, fiscal management, and administrative oversight.
Effective June 30, 2024, CareerSource Florida Crown ceased operations as part of a statewide workforce system consolidation. At that time, its service area was consolidated with CareerSource North Central Florida to create a new workforce development region serving Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, and Union counties.
CareerSource North Central Florida did not oversee or manage the financial operations referenced in the reports prior to July 1, 2024. The matters addressed in those materials relate solely to the former CareerSource Florida Crown organization and its operations before the consolidation occurred.
CareerSource North Central Florida remains committed to responsible stewardship of public resources and operates under established state and federal financial management requirements, oversight procedures, and fiscal controls governing the consolidated workforce development area.
