On January 16, the North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce and CareerSource North Central Florida named Patricia Evans the “Workforce Person of the Year.” Ms. Evans has served on the workforce board for many years. Last year, she served as Chair of the Career Source NCFL Board for 2017 and, in addition, has Chaired various committees throughout the years. She is always looking to help community businesses grow and actively searches for changes. Her steadfast dedication has been invaluable to the Bradford team. Ms. Evans currently serves on the Bradford County Development Authority (BCDA) board as Chair and plays an instrumental role in raising the training and educational bar of our local job seekers as well as the overall growth of local businesses. She is always looking for ways to encourage our community to work together and make a difference – no matter how large or small.
The North Florida Regional Chamber of Commerce named Home Sweet Bone as this year’s Small Business of the Year. Home Sweet Bone is a unique business that grew from owner Dawn Strickland’s love of her own pets. After years of hard work, she is now the community’s first choice for a pet boarding “home away from home.” Ms. Strickland has developed another successful business over the past year – Sister’s Grooming – that once again meets a previously unmet need in the local community.
