Workforce Investment Act (WIA)

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) creates a comprehensive workforce development system that provides assistance to job seekers and employers. WIA is based on a three-tier approach to the provision of employment and training services: core services, intensive services, and training services.

The Workforce Investment Act of 1998 is the primary current federal workforce legislation replacing former Job Training Partnership Act.

CareerSource North Central Florida is able to these provide employment and training services through the following programs:

  • WIA Adult and Dislocated Worker Services
  • WIA Youth Services
  • Wagner Peyser / Core Services
  • Veterans’ Services
