WoMen’s Career Expo
University of Florida Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is hosting the 2nd annual Women’s Career Expo: Helping Women Gracefully Re-Enter the Workforce March 31, 2010 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Santa Fe College Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED) 530 West University Avenue.
The expo is for women re-entering the work force after a significant absence. Women re-enter the work force for a myriad of reasons—divorce, death of a spouse, or a general need for financial independence. These potential employees are motivated and have the strong work ethic, skills and desire to learn that businesses need.
The Women’s Career Expo will focus on refining skills that may be diminished or hidden and will include a panel of speakers, workshops, booths highlighting community organizations and a take-home packet for participants to utilize the resources they are introduced to.
Topics will include:
BOOTHS on a range of topics from related community organizations
WORKSHOPS resume critique, mock interviews & computer skills
PANEL DISCUSSION from women in the community (11 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
EXIT PACKET summarizing all topics for all participants
