Veterans-Focused Hiring Events in November

CareerSource North Central Florida is honoring local veterans in multiple hiring events in November including Paychecks for Patriots and Beyond the Boots.

Paychecks for Patriots, a statewide veteran-dedicated hiring initiative to address the employment needs of veterans is joining forces with this month’s career fair focused on advanced manufacturing jobs. Both events are being held at the Gainesville Career Center from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m on Wednesday, November 14.

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Florida National Guard, and the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs are partnering again with local CareerSource Florida regions to link members of Florida’s military and veteran community with career opportunities through the
Paychecks for Patriots hiring initiative. Events across the state are scheduled to take place during the week of Veterans Day, November 11-17 including Alachua and Bradford counties. Since 2012, “Paychecks for Patriots” has helped put thousands of veterans and their families back to work.

This year’s veteran-hiring events initially kicked off with Beyond the Boots, a Career & Resource Fair held at Camp Blanding, Joint Training Center which took place on November 8 in partnership with CareerSource Northeast Florida, Florida National Guard Family Programs, Blue Star Families, and Citizen Soldier for Life among others.
