GAINESVILLE, FL – Due to road closures for the University of Florida Homecoming parade, CareerSource North Central Florida (NCFL) will close its Gainesville career center at 10 NW Sixth Street to the public on Friday, Nov. 6. Staff will report for training. The Gainesville career center will open again on Monday, Nov. 9, at 8 a.m.

Both the Gainesville career center and the Starke career center, located at 819 S. Walnut Street, will follow Alachua and Bradford county holiday schedules and close on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in honor of the Veterans Day holiday. Both locations will reopen for normal hours on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m.

CareerSource NCFL will honor veterans by participating with the Annual Veterans Day Celebration organized by Alachua County, CareerSource NCFL, and community partners to be held Wednesday, November 11, 2015, beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Veterans Memorial Park (formerly named Kanapaha Veterans Memorial Park, on the corner of SW 75th St. and SW 41st Pl., Gainesville). The CareerSource NCFL veterans services team will be on-hand to discuss job matching services, the new Gainesville career center location, and its dedicated services for veterans. This event is open to the public.

CareerSource NCFL’s participation in the event is part of its participation in Paychecks for Patriots, a statewide hiring initiative to address the employment needs of veterans in order to continue to make Florida the most veteran-friendly state in the nation.

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Florida National Guard, and the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs are partnering with CareerSource Florida regions to link members of Florida’s military and veteran community with career opportunities through the Paychecks for Patriots hiring initiative. Events across the state are scheduled to take place during the week of Veterans Day, November 9-13.
