The second TechQuest class came to an end December 14, 2011. TechQuest is an entrepreneurship training program for youth, that was born out of a partnership between FlroidaWorks and Santa Fe College Center for Innovation and Economic Development (SF CIED).
TechQuest II taught 18 young people about entrepreneurship and technology. Each student received an Acer tablet to facilitate learning and teach them about the importance of technology in entrepreneurship.
Jim Lilkendey, owner of Apogee Coaching, and Bill Dorman, co-founder of Startup Fusion taught the students about the entrepreneurial mindset over a 10-week period. The training consisted of a traditional classroom setting, field trips to Fracture and The Digital Worlds Institute, and presentations from successful entrepreneurs and CEOs.
Upon completion of the program, 18 students earned Acer tablets and completed the application process with Santa Fe College. Each student was tested prior to the program and will be re-tested and tracked, results will be reported as they become available.
TechQuest III is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2012.
