Solar Technology Students Graduate
This summer FloridaWorks had the opportunity to begin training our community’s future leaders.
About 500 Gainesville youths, ages 14 – 24, participated in the FloridaWorks Summer Youth Work Experience. The program was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and provided summer jobs for our future workforce.
While other regions put their funding toward existing programs, our community decided to try something new. About 100 employers hosted interns and focused on targeted training and sustainable technology. On August 14, 45 students graduated from the Solar Technology Training program at Loften High School.
