Statewide Hiring Fair Continues to Connect Florida Veterans with Career Opportunities

GAINESVILLE, FL – CareerSource North Central Florida (NCFL) is once again participating in “Paychecks for Patriots,” a veteran-dedicated hiring event held each November. The CareerSource NCFL events will take on November 8th and 9th from 9AM – 1PM respectively.

“Paychecks for Patriots” has been a success since its inception in 2012 and has helped put thousands of veterans and their families back to work. Each year, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Florida National Guard, and the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs work with CareerSource Florida to link members of the state’s military and veteran community with career opportunities. Those organizing the event hope to make Florida the “most military- and veteran-friendly state in the nation.”

The statewide hiring fair seeks to address the employment needs of service members, veterans and their families. This year, all events are scheduled to take place throughout the entire week of Veterans Day, November 6-10, in hopes of helping more job seekers than previous years.
