Know youths in need of a pathway to workforce?

Alachua YouthBuild is currently accepting applications for 18 to 22-year-olds that lack a high school diploma or GED.  The program engages young people by offering an alternative to the traditional school. 50 percent of time is spent in educational pursuits—namely a GED,  40 percent of the time is spent in construction and job skills training, and 10 percent of time is spent in leadership development.

Alachua YouthBuild has partnered with Alachua Habitat for Humanity and Santa Fe College, running the program out of the Charles R. Perry Center for Construction on the northwest campus of Santa Fe College.  Participants will receive a weekly stipend and incentives for benchmark completion.  Successful graduates of the program will obtain their GED and five nationally recognized building credentials. For eligibility information and an application, please click here.
