New Board Chairs

Don Davis, 2014-2015 CSNCFL Vice Chair and President of Capital City Bank for the Gainesville market, is now the 2015-2016 Board Chair, taking over for Thomas McIntosh. McIntosh, Berkshire Hathaway Trend Realty owner, will continue to serve on the board as its Immediate Past Chair and maintain his role as one of eight new Florida business leaders appointed to the statewide CareerSource Florida board of directors.

Patricia Evans is the 2015-2016 Vice Chair of the Board. Evans is the Capital City Bank President of Bradford and Clay counties and previously served as the CareerSource NCFL Strategy and Operations Oversight Committee Chair.

New Location at W University Ave and NW 6th Street

Effective July 1, 2015, CareerSource North Central Florida will begin its lease as the anchor tenant at the former Central Florida Office Plus building at 10 NW 6th Street.

The relocation, expected to be completed in Fall 2015, will centralize training programs, job placement assistance and nearly $27-million in U.S. Department of Labor grant-funded programs to bridge resources between government organizations, community programs and academic institutions.

The deal, brokered by The Beery Rainsberger Group and Cheshire Companies, has the potential to accelerate development in the CRA area and encourage the addition of innovation-focused businesses along the University Ave. corridor.

“In any economy, job training and employment are easy to support, and I think that’s why we’ve had such universal encouragement,” said Todd Rainsberger.

New Workforce Provider at Gainesville One-Stop

Dynamic Workforce Solutions, a national workforce development organization, is now the workforce services provider for the Gainesville career center at 4800 SW 13th Street. Services will not be interrupted. DWFS aims to provide high quality employment, training and consulting services, fiscally responsible and accountable program management practices and continually improving levels of customer satisfaction.
