Building Careers for Veterans
HBI is a national nonprofit building trades training organization that provides quality training for more than 170 positions in the industry and job placement assistance with an 80% job placement rate in the building industry trade for graduates. All Eligible Veterans must be registered in EmployFlorida.com and complete a career assessment at CareerSource North Central Florida.
PACT CORE CREDENTIAL: An Introduction to the Building Trades
Veterans can earn a nationally recognized trade credential recognized by the Department of Labor and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
- Building Trades Safety & First Aid
- Construction Math
- Tools & Construction Materials
- Assistance with preparing for apprenticeship programs or industry job placement
- Employability skills workshops
- OSHA to Construction Safety and Awareness training and card
- CPR/First Aid/AED training and card
Eligible Veterans must possess proof of Florida Residency
DD214 with Character of Service Identified (Dishonorable or Court Martial are not acceptable. DD214 must have no sections blacked out or unreadable)
Proof to work in the United States; Social Security Card required
Agree to provide written proof of Employment Placement in the Building Industry Trade (including a copy of a pay stub and communicate monthly with HBI)
All enrolled Veterans are agreeing that written proof of employment placement obtained after acceptance into HBI shall be provided to HBI and maintained confidential.
