FloridaWorks joined forces with the Council for Economic Outreach, Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, and Innovation Gainesville in a collaborative effort to showcase the Gainesville community and offer the necessary resources to support Silver Airways relocation of its maintenance facility to Gainesville.
Silver Airways, a United States airline headquartered in Fort Lauderdale that operates 100+ daily scheduled flights to/from 29 gateways in Florida, the Bahamas, Montana, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia is now stationed in the former Eclipse Aviation hangar at the Gainesville Regional Airport. The airline has transferred 52 personnel from its former maintenance facility in Fort Lauderdale and hired 21 job seekers from the Gainesville area.
FloridaWorks provided recruitment services, helping to market open positions and identify local talent. In addition to prescreening potential applicants, the team hosted recruitment events, providing a facility to conduct interviews.
FloridaWorks, a part of an ambassador team, met with Silver Airways employees at the company’s corporate headquarters in Fort Lauderdale to assist in relocation efforts. The team presented opportunities in the community covering training, education and lifestyle.
