Calling all Tech Startups!

GIT’s (Gainesville Information Technology) Forum III: Startup Edition Happening Right Before Startup Hour

Calling all of Gainesville’s tech nerds, uber-geeks and entrepreneurs!

In the past few months, inspired leadership and amazing folks have been meeting with FloridaWorks, the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce, GRU, Info Tech, Infinite Energy, InterMed, 10Geek Software, 352 Media, UF, Santa Fe, New Horizons and more to talk about what computer programming languages and supportive software development needs exist in the area and how to align our city to attract, support and retain our IT professionals.

Now it is your turn!  We are inviting all the city’s nerds, uber-geeks, and entrepreneurs who run local small to midsize tech startups to come talk with this great group about the world you see, your staffing needs, what it looks like to hire your first 3 or 5 programmers, and what skills or processes you hunger for most.

Together we know we can help solidify Gainesville as a great city to work, play, live and raise a family for the technologically inclined. Would you consider joining us this coming Thursday (April 18th) at 5pm?  This meeting is targeted specifically at entrepreneurs who haven’t had a chance to chime in to the city on what their current needs are. GIT’s mission is to position Gainesville as a leading IT community by developing, attracting and retaining “1337” talent.

We invite you to plug in as we start sharing awesome across companies, across disciplines, across domains. From education and retraining, to skills assessment and growth, to training grants and funding, to special hosted events, conferences and shows.  The sky is the limit – come and help us take hold of our futures in this regard!

Looking forward to meeting you in person this coming Thursday! Your attendance and participation is greatly appreciated!
