At session one, Health Policy Consultant Marilyn Headley presented “How Smoking Cessation Programs Can Save Your Company Thousands” with guest speaker Ellen Everette, Sandvik Mining human resources coordinator, who discussed Sandvik’s transition to a 100 percent tobacco-free campus.
While tobacco-free workplace policies can have many financial benefits, Deck made his motivation for a tobacco-free policy clear. “It’s about helping the team get whatever they need to be healthy,” states Deck. Because of the implementation of this new policy, two B&B Office Systems staff members began their journey to quit tobacco for good.
B&B Account Representative Erica Merrell is quitting tobacco thanks to the supportive work environment created by B&B and their new tobacco-free campus policy. “People want to be healthy, this [/fusion_builder_column] [fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”] [policy] gives support to push to become a better version of yourself,” Merrell said. “Is it easy? No. But I think it’s great. I think it helps productivity. I think there are all sorts of benefits.
