Hogtown HomeGrown is hosting the 2012 Eat Local Challenge for the month of May. There will be food, cooking demos, information from local food and gardening organizations, acitivities for kids, music and lots of Sunday Tailgate Market vendors.
What is the Challenge?
The Eat Local Challenge, sponsored by HogTown HomeGrown and in its fifth year, encourages participants in North Central Florida to eat local food at every meal and highlights restaurants that feature locall-sources foods on their menus.
The kick off will be held April 29th from 2:00p,-5:00pm at the Citizen’s Co-op on 435 South Main Street. There will be crafts and activities for kids, local acoustic music, Sunday tailgate market vendors, and hourly cooking demos with samples!
The Community Celebration
The Community Celebration will be held on Sunday, May 27th from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Sweet Dreams Homemade Ice Cream on 3437 West University Avenue. Sweet Dreams will make special local flavors for this event, and there will be door prize drawings.
