17 Project YouthBuild alumni receive Presidential recognition for volunteer service

On Monday, July 28, Project YouthBuild (PYB) staff, students and alumni celebrated 17 President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA) recipients.

The PYB alumni received the premier volunteer awards for recognition of service hours in three categories: Bronze (100-174 hours), Silver (175 to 249 hours) and Gold (250+ hours). The current 24 students are working toward the PVSA and AmeriCorps service awards.

The award program recognizes United States citizens and lawfully admitted permanent residents of the United States who have achieved the required number of hours of service over a 12-month time period – or cumulative hours over the course of a lifetime.
