STEM Ready Employer Worksite Application Steps

Before starting this process, please confirm you have downloaded the latest version of Adobe Reader and scanner. All forms need to be completed in Adobe Reader and submitted as a PDF using the steps below. The worksite agreement requires an original signature to be scanned and submitted online.

Step 1 – Complete Application

Review the STEM Ready Employer Application Checklist.

  1. Download the STEM Ready Worksite Application.
  2. Complete the application in its entirety using the form fields provided. Please answer all questions and fields. Incomplete applications will be returned.
  3. Save the document as a PDF.
  4. Submit the completed application through STEM Ready Employer Portal (instructions below).

Step 2 – Register on Employer Portal, Submit Application
  1. Go to the STEM Ready Employer Portal to create a user profile and upload your application to create an account.
  2. Once uploaded, staff will receive an automated alert. At this point staff will review your application to determine if your worksite is eligible. Applications are typically reviewed within 7 workdays, depending on holidays.
  3. Once a determination of eligibility is made, staff will mark the application as “approved” or “disapproved.” You will receive an automatic alert of the action taken.

If you receive a notice saying your application was disapproved… Simply review the comments on your applications, make corrections and resubmit the application. Here is how.

  1. Log into the STEM Ready Employer Portal. Staff will provide any comments and a list of corrective actions regarding your application.
  2. Once you complete the revisions to your application, log into the STEM Ready Employer Portal and re-submit your application.

Step 3 – Complete & Submit the Worksite Agreement

Review the Approved STEM Ready Worksite Checklist.

  1. Once your STEM Ready Worksite Application is approved, download the STEM Ready Worksite Agreement.
  2. Complete the STEM Ready Worksite Agreement in its entirety. Ensuring that all dates and signatures are in the correct places. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  3. Print and sign the Worksite Agreement. Be sure to sign the correct line. Worksite Agreements with incorrect signatures will receive a “disapproval” notice.
  4. Once signed, scan the document with the original signature into a PDF format.
  5. Upload the scanned version of the completed and signed Worksite Agreement to the STEM Ready Employer Portal.
  6. Once signed, the CareerSource NCFL board chair will sign and execute the agreement on behalf CareerSource NCFL.Typically this process takes about two weeks from the time they are submitted onto the portal. While waiting for the signature, employers are encouraged to continue on through STEP 4 CREATE POSITION DESCRIPTION(S). However, employers cannot host an intern prior to receiving the alert that the worksite agreement has been signed.
  7. Once signed by the CareerSource NCFL board chair, you will receive an automated alert notifying you the worksite agreement has been executed.

Log into the STEM Ready Employer Portal to review any comments regarding your Worksite Agreement.

Step 4 – Create Position Description(s)

Only one STEM Ready Position Description form is needed per each internship position title. For example, if you are planning to have two interns performing the same job, you only need one position description.

  1. After your Worksite Agreement has been approved, please complete the entire STEM Ready Position Description Form for each of the approved STEM Ready internship positions.
  2. Upload the position description(s) to the STEM Ready Employer Portal. Each form should be a separate document.
  3. You will receive an alert when the Position Description has been approved.

Step 5 – Training Plan

All STEM Ready approved and eligible interns will receive a STEM Ready Certificate of Eligibility. The intern will present the certificate to you, indicating you may now proceed to the Training Plan.

  1. Prior to the Intern Start Date, download and complete the STEM Ready Training Plan.
  2. The Training Plan is an agreement between the STEM Ready Intern and the Worksite Supervisor detailing the specific goals and objectives the intern hopes to achieve during the internship.
  3. Fill out the Training Plan in conjunction with the selected intern.
  4. Both the Worksite Supervisor and the intern’s signatures are required.
  5. Upload the Training Plan to the STEM Ready Employer Portal.
  6. Interns may not begin working until the Training Plan has been approved.

You will receive an alert when the Training Plan has been approved.

If the Training Plan is not completed properly, you will recieve an alert of disapproval.
