How to Prepare

Job Seekers

Take the following steps to ensure you’re ready to interview.

  1. Update Your EFM Profile: Update your Employ Florida profile. All participants are required to have an Employ Florida profile prior to entering the job fair.
  2. Be Ready to Interview: Show up early, dressed appropriately, and ready to interview! Many employers will conduct interviews at the job fair. Doors open at 9am, but the Gainesville career center is open at 8 a.m. every day (except Thursdays). Take advantage to print copies of resumes, lists of jobs you want or to secure other support materials.

If we don’t have what you need, schedule an appointment with Betty Holmes at our Gainesville career center. We may be able to purchase or secure supplies for eligible job seekers. Remember, your success is our success.

Employers

Our goal is to help ensure employers can quickly and efficiently identify the right talent to fill their positions.

To help expedite the process, we recommend employers follow three easy steps: ef_wfp_logobrand_blank_pms

  1. Register Openings on Employ Florida Marketplace (EFM): Help jobseekers research and prepare for your open positions by listing your open positions on EmployFlorida.com. Need help? Contact your Business Services team for hands-on guidance.
  2. Set a Goal: We’re encouraging our candidates to be ready to interview. Be sure to know which positions you’re planning to hire for and which skills qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate.
  3. Be Ready to Hire: While you’re never required to hire anyone you meet through us, we hope you will find the perfect fit for your positions. If you think it’s a good fit, let our candidates know and communicate the next steps on hiring.

Need a hand? Our dedicated business services team is available to help you. Contact Phyllis Marty or James Schindler any time. View our contact page for locations, phone, and hours.
