Oct. 05, 2017 Gainesville, FL – CareerSource North Central Florida (NCFL), the Alachua-Bradford Local Area Workforce Development Board, has named Frank Avery its new executive director. The hire was approved at the organization’s September 29 Board of Directors meeting and was effective immediately.
As executive director, Avery will facilitate the formation of locally-driven workforce policies, help engage business leaders, and educate the community on CareerSource North Central Florida’s nationally-leading programs and services. He brings extensive experience working with public-private partnerships, strategic planning, and public affairs.

Avery has worked with CareerSource North Central Florida since 2015 as its Communications Director and later External Affairs Director where he led both legislative and community outreach. Prior to joining CareerSource North Central Florida, Avery served as Communications Director for a Gainesville-based branding agency and Special Projects Manager for the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Avery began his career with an award-winning Columbia, S.C.-based economic development agency where he focused on public relations in cluster-based associations. He is a graduate of the Gainesville-based Business Community Coalition’s Public Leadership Institute and the Gainesville Chamber’s Leadership Gainesville Class 43. He currently serves as the President of the Board of Alachua County Emerging Leaders.
